BrandView Communications is a consultancy founded by Laura McGowan Fry.  Laura is a customer insights professional who specializes in digital strategy, ux testing, and market research.


Holly has been working in the journalism field for over 30 years. Her professional journalism practice focuses on digital content marketing, media design, newswriting, public relations and graphic design.  She is a champion of new media and has expertise in the technologies and strategies essential in harnessing its enormous storytelling and community-building potential. Recent clients include Hour Detroit and University of Michigan Health Care. 

Holly lends her expertise to BrandView's social media practice with an emphasis on blog development (client management, content creation, Search Engine Optimization, Search Engine Marketing, etc.).

She is also a journalism instructor at Oakland University, where she has taught and advised since 1994.  As a journalist who also gets to teach journalism, Holly is happily immersed in two fertile worlds.  Both of them provide abundant opportunities to work with her professional passions – people and words.

As a journalism professor, Holly has the privilege of collaborating with students in the classroom where she mentors them in courses such as feature writing, media design and convergence journalism. Holly is delighted to be engaged in journalism at such an exciting time, and feels particularly fortunate to be able to explore the new media landscape in the company of ambitious and idealistic students.

Holly also serves as chief curriculum adviser for the program, as well as professional adviser for The Oakland Post, OU’s independent student newspaper.
